Let's Get Started.

Hello friends,

Thank you so much for being so patient with me. My part-time job transferred into being full-time for the summer. Call me a wimp, but I can't imagine how people work full-time all the time. How can you have time to do anything? How can you work full-time, cook, clean, exercise, socialize, sleep, AND have a hobby? It's insane!

I have officially started working on my new children's book. I have finally moved past the prep phase into the final illustrations phase. My process is a bit different from Friends for a Day. I created Friends for a Day by working in sets of threes. I did three spreads (or six pages) at the same time. Sketch, paint, color, next set. This time around though, I'm sketching out all 32 pages before even beginning to paint. There's a very good reason for this, I promise. I am not crazy!

Which leads me into a proposal of sorts... I would love to share the behind-the-scenes with you guys. This will be a massive project to undergo, completely in secret, on my own. Friends for a Day took me 8 months to complete, and I was arguably working on that full-time. Book 2 will take me even longer, as I have a day job now, and all the other adult responsibilities I've got to do.
